Tribute, March 2012
The BlueBoy Club, February 2008 |
TributeTribute dance club is currently my home club. It's an entertainment venue for the gay community and their friends, and anyone who wants to enjoy dancing, good music, and a friendly environment. Tribute is open for your enjoyment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We encourage and welcome to you go there and hang-out, bring your friends, chat, dance or relax. We'll keep the great music playing for you. There are couples slow dance pedestals, an Intan couples "fast" dance system, a lounge area, and more. To receive a notecard with more information, club rules, club map, and other features, touch the sign that is to your right once you TP into the club. You can get there via this SLurl. Tribute is so-named because it pays homage to one of Second Life's first and most beloved gay-specific nightclubs, The BlueBoy Club, affectionately known as "BBC" by many old-timers who were regulars. While the club is gone now, the memories remain among some of us who've been in SL for some time. While this build is certainly quite different than the BBC, it retains a few elements of the original, particularly its dark clubby feel, the blue and green starfield surrounding the interior, and various little details here and there. The design brief was this question, "If BlueBoy Club were built today, what might it look like?" If you knew the original, we hope you enjoy Tribute. If you didn't, we hope that you form pleasant memories of your visits here, just as we did with The BlueBoy Club back in the day. |
